Google's Second December 2025 Pixel Update: Factory and OTA Images Available
Google is rolling out a second December 2025 update for Pixel phones, with factory and OTA images now available for manual installation. This out-of-cycle update, as revealed by Verizon, addresses three critical issues for the Pixel 8-10 series:
- Battery Drain: Experiencing faster-than-normal battery depletion.
- Touch Unresponsiveness: Intermittent touch failures observed specifically on the Pixel 10.
- Cached Content Access: Inaccessibility of locally stored content (e.g., offline media, maps) after upgrading from Android 14 or earlier directly to Android 16.
The update changelog was released by the US carrier on Wednesday, and as of Friday, Google has not yet released any information. However, they did post the factory and OTA images for developers later that day. This update includes a new build for each regional and carrier variant released earlier this month, indicating it's intended for all users.
The OTA update file size is approximately 25 MB. If you haven't received the on-device OTA update, you can manually sideload it. However, as of Friday afternoon, the update hasn't been fully rolled out. More people received it in the past two days, including unlocked phones, but Google Fi/T-Mobile devices are still lacking it.
