Wings Facility Naming Rights Deal: A Win-Win for the City and the Team! (2026)

The Dallas Wings are eyeing a naming rights deal for their new practice facility in West Oak Cliff, Dallas. The team's leaders are hopeful that they can sell the naming rights and are pledging to give the city a significant cut of the revenue. According to Mike Albanese of the DALLAS BUSINESS JOURNAL, the Dallas Park and Recreation Board is scheduled to discuss whether to give the Wings the ability to sell those rights. If approved, the franchise has agreed to give the city 70% of any proceeds from a naming rights deal, with the team keeping the remaining 30%. Any funds directed toward the Park and Recreation Department would go toward the development of Joey Georgusis Park, where the practice facility is planned. The board will also consider allowing 24-hour access to the facility by Wings players and staff, community engagement opportunities during the year, and the inclusion of a community wing that is accessible to the public during scheduled hours with meeting rooms, two soccer fields adjacent to the building, and a Chalk Hill Trail connection within the park. These items do not require approval from the city council.
